Cheating

Well, after slacking off for almost two weeks now, blog wise, I'm going to cheat and skip the boring weeks at work and camera dramas to get to last weekend. Sally arrived late on Thursday night, and after some very (and I mean very) nerve wracking driving, including getting lost in an industrial park on the other side of the airport, I managed to arrive in the waiting area before she finally came through those doors. Unfortunately me getting to the airport wasn't where the getting lost ended... about 10 minutes after driving out of the airport, we some how ended up in the airport cargo village...of the airport. Obviously the whole driving thing wasn't going brilliantly that night, but we eventually made it home.

The rest of the (long) weekend was filled with lazy mornings and following our noses around to a few of the huge shopping malls, including the one with the ski slope, and to sights such as the Burj Al Arab, the beach (at which the ocean was the temperature of a tepid bath... incredible) and Burj Dubai. Building to the left is Burj Dubai. Soon to be the tallest building in the world. Already at 122 stories tall, it's only 100m short of the current one. When completed it will be some 300m taller than the current title holder. When I arrived on the 7th of April, they had completed 120 floors, that's how fast they're building it. The other two buildings are part of the complex I live in.

I live in the building on the left. 8th floor. It's the short one, only 26 storeys.

Well, that should be enough to satisfy you salivating dogs. Also, these photos were taken on my new, red Sony DSC-T100, possibly the sexiest camera ever built. But that was last week's adventure and I cheated...
