Round the World in 80 Minutes

To avoid continued irregularities in blog posts, I'm going to quickly make sure I get this weekend up on here as quickly as possible. Unfortunately this weekend wasn't exactly an excitement fest, especially since it culminated in me developing a slight fever and a sore throat yesterday!

I basically visited one place of interest, or did a round the world trip, depending on how you want to look at it. Ibn Battuta is another HUGE themed shopping centre located in nearby Jebel Ali (being the main deep water port in Dubai). Basically they decided that coming to Dubai for shopping should be all the travel you ever need to do, so each court is built in the style of various countries. For example, the China Court, with its full size junk and traditional Chinese decorations.

Or, imagine being whisked away to....

Note the lovely "sky" clearly visible as you wander the streets of New New Delhi..ahem.

Or perhaps you want to visit the ancient wonders...
As you can see, Ibn Battuta is a pretty special place, and if you think that the tacky knock offs of international cultures stays inside, you're wrong...

Being smack bang in the middle of the ports/industrial area means it also has a pretty nice outlook to the local power station, lucky no one lives nearby....... yet.

So, there you go, that's basically all I got up to this weekend... And now, a newsflash update about Burj Dubai. As I'm sure all of you remember from my last post (all three days ago), the tower stood at 122 stories, and had done for just over a week. Here's where it's at now, 124 stories.

By the way, you no longer have to sign up to leave a comment! So go crazy!

Surely there was an Australia Court. Bit of rusty corrugated iron, coupla kangaroos. That sort of thing.

I'm the first comment for this blog! Awesome.
